PostSubject: Tis the season for a leak   Fri Dec 10, 2010 2:34 am

So I am driving along in the rain enjoying the recently installed heater boxes (see post in General Topics) and looked over and noticed a drip, drip, drip.

It is dripping from just under the front of the dash at both corners. On the passenger side between the glove box and the side of the car and similar on the drivers side but it trails out the fresh air vent controls.

I can't think of where it could be leaking from, but it almost seems like the front windsheild rubber.

It is the Cal rubber, without chrome. It looks to be in good condition but I can't think of where water could be getting that high into the dash and that far to the outside corners.

Anyone have any thoughts or experience with this????

Why yes, I do have a sunroof.

I will have to check the posts to see if it could be running down from there.

If it stock, there should be two tubes from corners of sunroof running down pillars to the bottom of the car.

Betcha ya got no tubes!!! so water will run down pillars into dash area!

Nope! Not a stock stock sunroof. No tubes to speak of.

Good thought though. I was sure that was it.

Back to the drawing board... scratch

MMMM...

I am sure you already did.. but I would check the hood seal.. if the hood is not tight.. there is holes in the channel where the seal is... a drip tray. Maybe rain getting in there??

Then holes (from rust) under the fenders going into the trunk area.

My cal rubber windshield would also leak in the corners when it was pouring down rain.
