Hello everyone. I was just wondering your opinions on the 34pict3... I am currently running the stock 30/31 on my 1600dp, which is serving it's purpose, however i also have a 34pict3 in good shape, just chillen on a shelf in my garage. My question is, is there a significant enough difference in the performance and or consistency of operation of the 34pict3 to warrant the time and effort of swapping out the 30/31? lemme know what y'all think!!! as always, thanks for your input!

Hey Rush, My understanding is that the 34pict3 requires the dual vacuume distributor. That is the set up I have on my super. It runs great and gets fantastic gas miliage. That being said I have also been told that running a 34 with a 009 dist is not the best combination. My personal experience has proved that both with or without the dual vacuume and or running an 009 they performance is the same. Barring my own inability to tune it right (possibly the cause) I have experienced a flat spot at around 1500-2000 rpms in all three of the following setups. pict 34 and stock dual vacuume dist, pict 34 with a standard 009 dist and pict 34 with a petronix electric ignition. What I do know is that I have gotten the best fuel consumption running the pict 34 with a standard dual vacuume non electronic distributor. Hope this helps. Breck
